Rokua Geopark

Rokua Health & Spa Hotel is located in the heart of Rokua Unesco Global Geopark area.

Rokua Geopark is Finland’s first Geopark included in an international network of unique geologic sites. It is an official UNESCO Global Geopark and relates the story of the most recent Ice Age – when the melting ice and receding sea shore shaped the landscapes of Rokua, Lake Oulujärvi and Oulujoki River valley. The park is located alongside of Pohjola route, which offers experiences and nature sights in Oulu region.

The park offers an excellent opportunity for investigating a unique natural setting as well as enjoying genuine products, experiences and stories. At Rokua Geopark we promote sustainable development, tourism and natural sciences education.

Ancient geologic changes have moulded the Rokua area into a unique site in terms of landform, flora, fauna and people. We warmly welcome all visitors to Rokua Geopark!
