Pääesiintyjät

Saturday’s atmosphere will be led by the Pääesiintyjät.

In 1993, our country was conquered by the Pääesiintyjät group, whose style is derived from the hay barn romance and rockabilly of old Finnish films, whose songs Sua aattelen and Iiris played heavily on the radio waves. The band released one album called Pitkäsoitto and immediately disappeared from the charts. Over the years, the group became a cult band, which was repeatedly asked to return to gigs. The Pääesiintyjät finally made the hoped-for return to the stage in the spring of 2019, and in February 2020 the new Pääesiintyjät album Lättähatun paluu saw the light of day, which was chosen by e.g. local radios’ album of the month.

The band’s original members from 1993 include Pete Salomaa (läskibasso) and Mika Jokinen (guitar), known from the band Francine. As a company, they have received e.g. Vocal soloist Vesa Haajan, known from Agents, Whistle Bait and Barnshakers, and drummer Timo Järvinen, who has a strong background in various roots orchestras.
